I started this Podcast in quarantine, and I talked to people from all walks of life- basically about what they have done, and what they're trying to do. While I'm trying to gear more towards the music and comic book crowd, I'd also like to keep that looser vibe that comes from catching people where they are. I really enjoy it.

The Title of Today’s episode is “The New Graphic Novel, Beneath, Is Really Good So Far, Part 2”
First of all I just wanna say that I think reviewing a graphic novel in 2 or 3 parts is pretty boss, okay, it’s a game changer… and I’m not going to apologize for doing that. And I’m not sorry about yesterday’s episode either. Actually I am sorry about yesterday’s episode I think it… could’ve been better.
Anyway, for Shadow work today, the question is, do you have to do shadow work every day, or is it better to not do that. And the answer is, I don’t know. Like yesterday I honestly think I should’ve just taken the day off from shadow work to do yard work instead. But I didn’t do that, and I think I wound up feeling worse. That honestly seems like an overshare, but you know what, I’m doing this for you.
It’s not for me it’s for you.
It’s not for me it’s for you!!!
So actually, I might have to change my opinion on corporate sponsorships because it does seem like I can offer quality goods at discount prices, and still maintain complete creative control. The only problem is that the products that I have chosen to advertise are really useful, and the material contained in this podcast is almost entirely frivolous. But what does frivolous actually mean? It means, “not having any serious purpose or value.” Oh, sorry, I didn’t mean to say frivolous, I meant to say superfluous. Superfluous, which means “unnecessary, especially through being more than enough.” Actually, some of the products that I will be advertising, are technically superfluous.
For instance, if you check the link listed in this podcast episode’s description, you will find a link for the Wagyu Cowboy Steak, from Snake River Farms. This is a dynamite piece of meat, and it is priced appropriately. So when you buy it, you are making a choice to spend on quality. Snake River Farms also has a line of premium BBQ items, and I think this podcast is gonna have to get some links for those sausages because let me tell you something folks, it’s grillin’ season. It was definitely the wrong time to start a cookies and milk podcast.
Actually people, I know how this might sound, but I really did decide, as I was writing this, to offer a link to the American Wagyu Smoked Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage. You will find a link to this product in the descriptions, and that’s just a good deal. I mean it sells itself. American Wagyu Smoked Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage from Snake River Farms, get in the game, with Snake River Farms. Or get the game, with Snake River Farms. I honestly, have no idea how this works, I know it seems like I’m being tongue in cheek here but my last lesson in commercial acting was like 15 years ago.
I also want to include a link for the LL Bean Backpack, this one is a no-brainer. Get Yourself a quality Backpack. Don’t put me in some kind of awkward social situation, where I have to convince you to get an L.L. Bean backpack. Okay? You want one. It sells itself.
And by the way, the L.L. Bean logo is a pretty modest logo as far as logo’s go. I have used LL Bean’s products in the past, and been very happy with them.
Let’s get into this chilling new graphic novel written by Steven S. DeKnight with Art by Michael Gaydos. First of all, Steven S. DeKnight was also the writer of Pacific Rim: Uprising – and that is a great movie. Artist Michael Gaydos also has previous credits, including co-creating Jessica Jones with Brian Michael Bendis. Listen folks, I do not have time to talk about Brian Michael Bendis right now, okay? I don’t have time.
Here is where I am at with the new graphic novel “Beneath”. The monsters are about to be revealed. At this point in the story, all of the main characters are trapped in a detention facility, and the power has gone out. I am going to need some serious cookies and milk action to be in the proper mental space for the oozing dread that this graphic novel is lathered with. The blood spatters from Michael Gaydos, coupled with the realism with which he realizes all of his characters, are both sick.
Also people, the best way to read comic books is very similar to binge-watching a good TV series. You’re gonna want a few hours to yourself and some quality snack time. And by the way you can listen to music. You can collect vinyl and comic books and sports memorabilia all – all in the same day. You have absolutely no idea what you are capable of in terms of leisure. But snacks, tunes, and comic books will show you the way.
Alright let’s move on to the cookies and milk portion of the episode.
For milk, I always wanted to feature a place based out of Providence Rhode Island called Olneyville New York System. Olneyville New York System is the ultimate greasy spoon, with a heavy dash of hot buttered soul. Their coffee milk is sweet and delicious, and in terms of the next great gastro city, just a hub of great food, Providence is way, way up there. But the traffic is awful.
For cookies, I believe the time is fast approaching where I might have to make a homemade batch of cookies myself. That might honestly be a good project for me.
Alright thanks for listening, I’ll be back tomorrow with a new episode.

Cookies and Milk and Shadow Work; A Podcast --- Episode V

The Title of Today’s Episode is called -- Categorical thinking will get you nowhere except everywhere, but in the eyes of society, you will still be considered a failure.
No, I’m just kidding.
The Title of Today’s Episode is called, “Acting Was Cool for a Minute, But Now It Is Not Anymore”
You’re listening to Cookies and Milk and Shadow Work, I’m your host, and my name is Will.
In late 2022, I realized I had an unprecedented opportunity to quit acting forever, and shift my focus to music journalism. I was sick of all the senseless confusion that comes with acting and auditioning, I was fucking sick of it. I did not seem to have even the slightest interest in actually creating a character, let alone interpreting dialogue, which used to be my favorite thing on earth. All I fucking cared about, was this stupid puzzle called having a career in the performing arts. I felt like I just wanted to solve the puzzle, but had no actual interest in acting at all.
But about a year ago, in the summer of 2023, it started to seem like people around me in my state of Connecticut, had been bitten by the acting bug for the very first time. And you, the listener, might not believe me about this next part, but I really started to get the feeling that some people in my local community just wanted me to tell them literally everything I knew about acting, for free, as soon as possible. In fact, it felt like I was supposed to tell them faster than is even possible, like I should just upload the information into their brains using some sort of Neuralink style technology that I thought we were supposed to be afraid of.
I decided that I would just write a short e-book kind of thing, maybe share some useful information about my time as an actor, and make some suggestions about how people could get involved in local productions. The truth is, I don’t blame anyone for wanting to know more about acting, and I don’t blame them for changing their mind. But I think it’s time for we as people to admit that we are more susceptible to what is Trending, or cool, or glamorous, than we would like to believe.
For example, a few years ago I wasn’t very interested in sports, but now I look at so many sporting events differently than I did in the past. Suddenly there are people I can talk to about soccer, or tennis, or even baseball. It seems like our values as a collective have really changed, but sometimes I wonder if any day now, our values will just change back to whatever they were before, or whatever they are supposed to be in the future. But all the same, I think there is value in acting. Acting is an opportunity to do shadow work without really doing shadow work. Even though you’re creating a fictional character and their fictional emotional landscape, there is a catharsis to it that is almost addictive.
Okay that’s plenty for shadow work, let’s get into… cookies and milk. I’ve actually been really jammin’ on the chocolate milk vibes lately, it’s just an easy treat when you’re not feeling very hungry. Also, I know that I normally talk cookies first and then move onto the milk portion, so please let me know in the comments if you prefer the milk segment before the cookie segment.
For cookies, honestly, I’ve had this podcast going for like a week, and I did go pretty nuts on a package of Chips ahoy cookies sometime around Episode III.
Alright, thank you for listening, this has been the fifth episode of Cookies and Milk and Shadow work. It was a little long for my taste, but I’m not perfect person, so ---

The Title of this Episode is – this New Graphic Novel, Beneath, is really good so far, Part 1
Hello, you’re listening to Cookies and Milk and Shadow Work, I’m your host, and my name, is Will.
So, for Shadow work today, what I realized is, you don’t have to read a graphic novel in one sitting. You should be able to decide how much you want to read, and go from there. If you realize within yourself that what you are reading is still interesting, but you don’t feel like reading anymore, you are absolutely free – to put the book down and go back to it later. No one is going to punish you.
For instance, my new poetry book, “If Scumbags Wrote Poetry”. https://lemondropannex.gumroad.com/l/iswpoetry
I honestly think more people would buy it if they really understood that they are not expected to read all the poems at once. I don’t want that for them. I think they should read only eight of these poems a day, maybe ten tops, and then when they finish the poetry book, they will have definitely, definitely enjoyed the book way, way more.
And the same is true for this new graphic novel called “Beneath,” which is written by Steven S. DeKnight with Art by Michael Gaydos, and Published by Comixology Originals. We, the collective we – meaning myself and the listener, will go deeper into the Creators of this Title further in the next episode. And I know it sounds like I’m being condescending by explaining about reading a quote unquote comic book in more than one sitting, but the truth is that I just don’t want you, the listener, to make a mistake that I almost made myself. I thought that I was supposed to read Beneath in one or two nights. But honestly, I don’t want to do that. I want to read this bad thing slowly. In fact? I don’t think I will be done reading this graphic novel until possibly Wednesday or even Saturday night.
But I started reading Beneath, and the artwork by M is incredible and the characters are surprisingly deep, even in the first 20 or 30 pages. I really enjoy this dark fantastical mystery and I am looking forward to the way that this story unfolds.
Anyway, we’re running a little low on time, so I’m going to have to make it quick with the cookies and milk portion of the podcast. For cookies, I am honestly thinking about finding a sponsor, I just feel like that would be best for everyone involved including you the listener. Seriously, if I can get us a discount on snacks, I would have to say this is a pretty good podcast.
Milk – Milk will always be a part of my life. Even if I were to find out that I was lactose intolerant, I wouldn’t care, because the pros clearly outweigh the cons.
Alright, thanks for tuning into this episode, I’ll be back tomorrow.

Hello people,
You’re listening to the first episode of Cookies and Milk and Shadow Work; A Podcast. I’m your host, and my name, is Will.
You might be wondering, what is Shadow work? Well, I did some light reading on the subject before I started this podcast, and shadow work is basically any emotion that a person can have that does not perfectly line up with this commercialist nightmare we call a society. Any misplaced emotion that just has nowhere to go, is basically something you have to shadow work on.
For instance, traffic. You just have to accept that traffic has gotten so much worse. There’s nothing for you to do, there’s nothing can do about traffic, except deal with your negative emotions in private, for 20 minutes after you’ve finally parked your car.
Anyway, this is going to be a bit of a short episode, actually, they’re all supposed to be short episodes, but I will be back. I will always come back.
One thing that I feel that I have to shadow work on in my life is perfectionism. The people around me, in my life, surely do not believe that I suffer from perfectionism, but I do. It’s like I’m stuck in a giant finger trap, and there are already two fingers in there, that’s how much that I suffer from perfectionism. So, how do I deal with that? How do I deal with the crushing shadowy grip of perfectionism? Well, that part is quite simple. I just get out a small plate, and a glass, and I serve myself up with 3 lukewarm cookies and a tall glass of milk.
Today’s Cookie is the delectable, the emotionally frightening, Keebler’s Keebler Fudge Dipped Duo. This is a seemingly traditional chocolate chip cookie with a full layer of extra fudge underneath the cookie’s base. Based on my research I saw that one online user criticized the Dipped Duo, saying that these cookies did not absorb milk, which I found to be flagrantly untrue.
Now some people at this point whom are listening might be saying, “Will, this is all well and good, but what milk do I mix with this cookie? What milk? What milk do I mix with this cookie?” And to you I say, “That is simply not for me to decide. You, my friend, you, must look deep within, deep deep within, and reveal for yourself the appropriate milk choice – whether that be whole, or skim, or 2 percent.”
Thank you for listening, this has been the first episode of Cookies and Milk and Shadow Work. I’m sure you’ve learned a lot, I know I have, and I’ll be back tomorrow with a new episode.
Alright, as the great philosopher Seneca once said, “Later on, my dudes.”

5 Poems from "If Scumbags Wrote Poetry"
Friday Jul 12, 2024
Friday Jul 12, 2024
This is a promotional piece for my new book of poems, "If Scumbags Wrote Poetry." I'm very happy with the results of this book, which gestated for a long time, with little additions and subtractions over the course of several years. But for the reader, I think the end result is pretty refreshing, hopefully reminding us all of why we read and write in the first place. The book is available now as a Pay-What-You-Want $4 item. Here is the link if you'd like to pick up the book --
If Scumbags Wrote Poetry (gumroad.com)
The Poems, in order, are "Untitled, Untitled, Untitled, HW Assignment #4 (Science Fiction), and Screech Owl"

The Lemon Drop Sessions: Scott Hoffman/Babydaddy Interview
Friday Jan 19, 2024
Friday Jan 19, 2024
Kick off the Winter Season with this new interview for The Lemon Drop Sessions, a podcast about food and music.
Scott Hoffman doesn't consider himself much of a foodie, but he had some fun stories from touring around the world with his band, Scissor Sisters. Scott H. recently branched out -- "call it a pivot," in his words -- into the world of comic books with two Limited Series ("Wag," and "Nostalgia,") which are now being packaged into #graphicnovels
With smokey notes of rosemary and deep thinking, this interview also has mellow overtones, with sprinkles of nutmeg and humour. #interview #comicbooks #podcast #music #albumsong #barbecue #food
